Morning Prayer and Praise

 Call To Praise and Prayer:

Let the peoples praise you, let all the peoples praise you, O God

Prayer of Illumination:

May we hear the voice of your Spirit, O God, teaching us how to love you and keep your commandments. May we hear the voice of your Spirit that teaches and comforts and warns and abides with us, even during difficult times.

May we hear the voices of the people you have made, O God, calling to us for help, crying out for a witness to your love and your grace. May we hear the people of Macedonia, or of any other distant land, and may we hear needy voices that are nearby -- voices we have drowned out by the noise of our own cares.

God, give us ears to hear the voice of your Spirit. God give us ears to hear the cries of people asking for help in your name. Amen.

Scripture:

 Acts 7:55-60

John 14:1-14

1 Peter 2:2 -10

Silent Meditation:

 (consider the following)

Peter’s statement. “let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

Jesus’ statements:

“In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us day by day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sins,

For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

Evening Prayer and Praise

Prayer:

I call upon you, O Lord; come quickly to me; give ear to my voice when I call to you.

Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice.
